When I think of the times I did the most sharing, a lunch setting comes to mind. Gathering for lunch allowed for open conversations, sharing personal updates of challenges and joy. It was a safe place to catch up on life.
I worked at a major New Jersey law firm for many years where lunch time offered us a casual meeting ground, a place where we could come together, vent, or unwind. Some of us were consistent, others would pop in every now and then. But the one thing we all agreed on was that it was our favorite time of the day. Where lawyers, paralegals, assistants, accountants, and other staff could enjoy each other’s company. We called it lunch therapy.
It is those special sharing times that inspired my novel’s setting for Lunch Tales: Suellen, which launches on February 13.
Here is what some of my early readers have had to say about it:
Lunch Tales: Suellen is women’s fiction at its finest!
In Lunch Tales: Suellen, savvy young women share a camaraderie reminiscent of the appealing Sex and the City quartet - minus the cosmopolitans.
A riveting read.
Tough to put down and worth the read.
Friendship, romance, and resilience . . . Lunch Tales: Suellen comprises all three!
I want Lunch Tales: Suellen’s characters as friends!
Lunch Tales: Suellen is sure to keep you turning the pages and rooting for the brave heroine.
Told from Suellen’s point of view, her complicated journey is packed with a realistic series of ups and downs. Suellen is a privileged, young, successful attorney who is in the midst of finding herself.
Prepare yourself for an emotionally charged ride with lots of dramatic twists and a multi-level story. Grand Prize Winner of A Woman’s Write’s (AWW) 2023 novel competition, LUNCH TALES: SUELLEN embraces powerful issues that snag the lives of contemporary women by addressing Suellen’s world of work, love, and a life-changing diagnosis.
