Count down to book launch!
LUNCH TALES: TEAGAN goes out in the world on January 22, 2026
This is my fourth book—one self-published, three traditonally published—but it never gets old. I still cry. There’s no way around it. It’s as fresh as the day it was imagined.
It begins with that first spark, then my brain does mental gymnastics, moving and bending words around, until my eyes strain from the blue light of my laptop at midnight when I can’t tear myself away. And that’s just the first few pages, which will undoubtedly get edited dozens of times! Does the first line grab the reader? Should I change it? Maybe I should begin with the third paragraph, or perhaps the second chapter.
Since I’m mostly a pantser writer (writers who write by the seat of their pants as opposed to planners and plotters), I never fully know the story’s trajectory. But every time I write a novel, there’s this moment when it all comes together, when my characters feel real, and they talk to me. No, I’m not going to say that. Or, This is how it’s going to go. I adore that moment! That’s when I can start following their lead. Stephen King said it best: “A good novelist realizes he (she) is a secretary, not God.”
Teagan and Luke’s chemistry and passion were so strong that it blossomed into a heartfelt, sensual story far beyond my expectations. They were entirely responsible for it!

Here is what I’ve recently read and recommend…
Family unity depends on communication and support, but when Sophia expresses her wish to be a surrogate for a childless couple, her seemingly stable marriage undergoes its toughest test. As the story unfolds, we are seeing things through husband Jake’s head. When the baby’s due date gloomily coincides with his brother’s death, a suppressed trauma resurfaces. Thus begins the unraveling of his carefully planned life. The book’s many (dust) layers and unexpected twists kept me hooked, and I found myself reading far into the night.
I recently spent a day in Asheville, North Carolina and did some writing research for my next novel. If you’ve never visited the Omni Hotel, you must! Besides the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountain views, the eclectic food, the amazing national gingerbread house competition that’s held in December, the Biltmore mansion is only minutes away!
Christmas at the Biltmore mansion is gorgeous.
And here is a shop window display of a dragon made from the Harry Potter series book pages.

Gotta love the Biltmore! Amazing dragon display.
