EXCITED FOR MY NEWEST NOVEL
Suellen (from Lunch Tales) joins forces with Elizabeth and Amanda (from Elizabeth's Mountain) in championing her own life
I am excited to announce the news of my new novel, Lunch Tales: Suellen. A contemporary romance/friendship story just in time for Valentine’s Day. It is available for preorder from my publisher NOW and ONLY at:
https://www.blackrosewriting.com/romance/p/lunchtales.
If readers purchase my book prior to the publication date of February 11, 2025, they may use the promo code: PREORDER2024 to receive a 15% discount.
Here are what some of my early readers had to say:
Fluidly resourceful and rebelliously sassy, Suellen Atkins can afford to to be a little reckless with her life. Or so she thinks. When a former boyfriend, a special friend she’s falling hard for, and a shocking medical diagnosis converge, she will need to summon the courage to face the truths about herself, and what she’s made of might just surprise her.
I am happy to add Suellen to my list of resilient, strong women protagonists. Suellen is a spirited and irresistible friend to the people who know her. Self-effacing and unconcerned with her privileged background, all she wants is to conform. But in matters of the heart, she is restless and reckless. When the right man comes along, the stakes could not be higher. But first, she has to save herself.
Whether it’s Elizabeth in the early fifties overcoming loss, Amanda staying true to her dream, or Suellen navigating a concurrence of challenges, each woman is a champion in her own story. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
In the meantime, as of this writing, I’ve received 823 five-star ratings for Elizabeth’s Mountain, for which I am humbly, humbly grateful.
So proud of my Gold Star medal from Readers’ Favorite for Elizabeth’s Mountain in Fiction-Drama.
SEPTEMBER WAS A BUSY MONTH! MY GRANDDAUGHTER TURNED TWELVE, A WEEK LATER MY GRANDSON HAD HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY, AND A WEEK AFTER THAT WAS MY BIRTHDAY. AND . . . I SQUEEZED IN A BOOK CLUB AND AUTHOR TALK AT MY LOCAL LIBRARY. LUCKILY, I WAS ALSO ABLE TO MAKE THE AUTHOR FEST ON THE RIVERWALK IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS SEEING MY PUBLISHER AND STAFF, AND MY FELLOW BLACK ROSE WRITING AUTHORS. I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME AND LEARNED SO MUCH. LOVE THE SUPPORT AND SHARING!
HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF A WHIRLWIND MONTH:
My granddaughter, Sofia (left) and friend.
My daughters are my biggest achievement.
Talking about my book baby is always fun. Such good questions!
And here are some of my recent five-star reads I would recommend:
Air Force veteran Tyler Zahn is trapped by a wildfire in a mountain retreat with a group of art patrons. If he doesn't step forward and lead, people may die.
The Dunwhitty family is flying high until their carefully choreographed life falls apart during the 2008 Great Recession, and the couple drift apart. A call from the sheriff's department that their son is in custody jolts the couple to the core as they try to repair their relationship.
To expose sex traffickers preying on a group of girls she has sworn to protect, legal aid attorney, Miranda Quinn, needs to keep her eyes and ears open. But to save the one young woman who needs her most, she'll have to open her heart. She's in for the fight of her life.
Asheville has been devastated by Hurricane Helene, where my novel, Elizabeth’s Mountain, takes place. I live two hours away and have always loved it there. Prayers going out for the people of western North Carolina and to all those places affected by this historic hurricane.
Prayers for all who have had damage to their property and loss of lives from this horrific hurricane!🥺
Thank you. I just got my power back on yesterday. So many trees down by me.
